This year’s event is centered around Fort Stevens State Park, where history meets the beach. On the first day riders will head toward Astoria and Fort Clatsop, choosing one of several loop routes that explore the quiet backroads of the northern coast. There’s even an option to climb up to the famous Astoria Column. The second day features a trip across the 4-mile-long Astoria-Megler bridge into Washington, with an option to continue on to the Long Beach Peninsula. There are routes from several miles to 60-plus available each day, and plenty of time in between to explore the beach and soak up some history in places the Lewis and Clark expedition stayed, along with shipwrecks and war relics.
