2019 CLASSIC Teaser

As is tradition, the location of next year’s Classic will remain a mystery closely guarded by a select few. But we don’t want to leave the rest of you completely in the dark. The following is a riddle that Steve introduced to the crowd on the last night of this year’s Classic. See if you can make any sense of it:

The spirit of the mountain,

The spirit of the sky,

A chief’s daughter,

A battle cry,

A sacrificial offering,

A Native’s trail,

A forest lives on without fail.

So do your detective work and formulate your theories. Steve will do the grand reveal of the route at the 2019 Kickoff party on January 30 at the Portland Art Museum. Registration opens January 31.

  3. The spirits of earth & sky are Crater Lake. The story of the chiefs daughter is Multnomah Falls. The forest recently burned is the Columbia Gorge. A native’s trail could be the Oregon Trail. The battle cry? Perhaps the Ducks in Eugene. A ride between Crater Lake and Multnomah Falls would be about 340 miles. But how to return? Intriguing riddle.

    1. Why return? It’s been awhile since CO did a one way ride? Maybe this year is one of those?

Crater Lake, Mt Shasta, Siuslaw National Forest????
