Freewheelin’ Friday No.4

Our weekly round-up of interesting bike news, commentary, and the best of what our favorite riders are up to.

Bill Walton’s Virtual Group Ride for Bike for Humanity  Our partners at Events.com are throwing an alley-oop to basketball Hall-of-Famer Bill Walton in support of his work with Bike for Humanity. Bill is hosting a virtual event Saturday April 25th and we’re asking for Cycle Oregon friends and fans to join the Trailblazer legend by signing up. Here’s what Bill has to say:

“Hi, I’m Bill Walton. I love my bike, and I love being alive.”

“These seemingly inseparable aspects of my life are great privileges— privileges that sadly not everybody has—even in the best of times. With privilege comes responsibility, obligation, and duty; and with the global health COVID-19 crisis changing everything for everybody these days, we are doing something about and for the exacerbated challenges that so many of our communities now face, not the least of which are food and medical care. We are Bike For Humanity and our team is creating a free virtual event—one that will be ongoing—with the purpose of raising much-needed resources.”

Please join us in supporting Bill Walton and Bike For Humanity by participating in this virtual event and by sharing this message. Sign up here, it’s free!
