STRADA offers training rides for all ages and abilities to get you the bike skills and conditioning you need to have a great time on your Cycle Oregon ride. All training rides will begin with riders gathering for a chalk talk that covers fitness and cycling issues. Your coaches will then run you through drills and give you specific techniques to work on before you set out on the ride. Once on the ride, coaches will be giving additional instruction, guidance and tips on a group and individual basis.
This isn’t just a ride – it’s an opportunity to learn, so be prepared to work on techniques and ask questions.

Training Programs
Don’t live near Portland? Just want to train on your own? STRADA and Colorado Premier Training have the perfect training options for you. Choose from a 20-week cycling plan that will guide you through daily mileage and cycling drills, or try a custom-built program that’s created just to fit you, or try working with an individual coach to reach your goal of riding Cycle Oregon like a pro.
20-Week STRADA Cycling Program – $35
Need a little guidance? This training program will give you a plan to put the wheels in motion. STRADA offers three different 20-week training programs based on this year’s route. The STRADA Cycling Program will outline your riding by day, including mileage and drills. Choose your program based on your cycling level and get to work!
STRADA Custom Fit Training Program – $150
This program is custom-built so that it truly fits your life – it looks at the whole person. Be prepared to discuss your current fitness level, riding ability, training time available, lifestyle, injuries, concerns and goals. You’ll start by completing an extensive questionnaire followed by a personal consult (either in person or via phone) with one of STRADA’s coaches. Then they’ll create a custom-fit program just for you.
Individual Coaching Through Colorado Premier Training
Colorado Premier Training specializes in custom training programs. You’ll work with a certified U.S. Cycling coach to develop a training program tailored to your specific goals and needs, based on your experience, strengths and weaknesses. Our online training program notifies you of upcoming workouts and also allows you to “log” your workouts for your coach to review. Your coach will also be available to address any problems or questions you may have. In this way, we can make any necessary modifications based on problems you might be having, or to meet any unforeseen changes in your schedule. For those riders with limited time to train and ride, a structured training program becomes indispensable. Our goal is for you to have the best experience possible while participating in Cycle Oregon – and being fit is a crucial component. We also want you to meet (or exceed) your personal goals. We can help make this happen by maximizing your fitness, confidence and preparation.
