Day 1: Saturday, July 18 – Wine Country and Wildlife

Head north through some of the most scenic stretches of the Willamette Valley. The longer route winds through wine country, passing half a dozen wineries, where you can stop and purchase wine that will be delivered back to the campsite, or just attack the steep rolling hills, before meeting the medium route in Amity for lunch. From there both routes head back to Monmouth by way of lightly traveled roads that skirt Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge, where you may spy critters of all kinds. The short route circles the area on back roads that are perfect for a leisurely ride.
