Day 2 – Sunday, July 17

“Ride Through Time” (Mileage options: 24/35/75)

Pedal back into Oregon’s history on today’s route, which heads toward the state’s birthplace. Roll out past generations-old family farms growing a variety of crops, as you wind through the valley with thickets of trees on the horizon. As the long route approaches historic Champoeg Park, the terrain changes to rolling hills beneath a canopy of trees. After a stop in the park, it’s a pastoral ride over contoured land and quiet roads into St. Paul. Pass orchards, cornfields and vineyards, skirting the Wheatland Ferry on the way into Willamette Mission Park, another spot rich with history. Return to Salem via a section of the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway.
